Mr. Andrea Minto
Andrea Minto works as Assistant Professor in Economic Law at Utrecht University School of Law and Utrecht School of Economics. Besides, he is Adjunct Professor of Banking Law at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Department of Economics, and Researcher at the DG Financial Stability of the Deutsche Bundesbank Eurosystem.
His domain of expertise extends to Economic Law, European and Comparative Financial Regulation, Company and Business Law, Banking Law, and AML legislation. During his PhD, he visited CASS Business School, City University London (Visiting Research Scholar) and the European Banking Authority (EBA). Meanwhile, he also worked as Head of the Compliance Function at the Legal Department of the Cooperative Bank Association.
In 2014 he was selected by the Bank for International Settlements – Basel Committee of Banking Supervisors to undertake a research on the effectiveness of the Three-lines-of-defense model at financial institutions (under the premises of the BIS Research Fellowship).
He is a member of various research groups on corporate governance and on banking regulation, such as the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI – Brussels), the Virtus Global Centre for Corporate Governance – Department of International Economics, Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine, IUS COOPERATIVUM, International Forum on Co-operative Law, and the Danish research project “Regulating Financial Business and Services” at Syddansk Universitet – Denmark.
