Tomáš Kozák is the Director of EU Common Foreign and Security Policy Department at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia. He leads a team responsible for Slovakia’s foreign policy at the EU level.
Before taking this position, he served at the Permanent Representation of Slovakia to the EU in Brussels where he worked as Antici Counsellor until 2017. He liaised on daily basis with the Ambassador to the EU in managing and coordinating a team of experts participating in political negotiations in the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper). He chaired EU28 negotiations during the Slovak Presidency of the EU.
Tomáš holds a Master’s degree in EU Law and Politics from University of Basel (Switzerland) and a Master’s degree in International Relations from Matej Bel University (Slovakia). He speaks English, German and French.
